A 29-year-old Indonesian woman who died over the weekend was infected with bird flu, the health ministry confirmed on Monday, bringing the toll to 103 in the worst-hit nation.

JAKARTA: A 29-year-old Indonesian woman who died over the weekend was infected with bird flu, the health ministry confirmed on Monday, bringing the toll to 103 in the worst-hit nation.

"We are now at 126 infection cases, 103 of them fatal," the ministry's director general for contagious disease control, I Nyoman Kandun, told the media.

A 28-year-old woman has also been confirmed as infected but is still alive, he added.
