Indonesia reports 101st bird flu death

A 32-year-old Indonesian man has died of bird flu, the health ministry said Wednesday, bringing the toll to 101 in the nation worst hit by the deadly virus.

JAKARTA: A 32-year-old Indonesian man has died of bird flu, the health ministry said Wednesday, bringing the toll to 101 in the nation worst hit by the deadly virus.

"The man died at 16:20 on January 29 at Persahabatan hospital, Jakarta," the ministry's bird flu information centre said in a statement.

The victim was from the Jakarta satellite district of Tangerang, the ministry added.
