Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday slammed the government saying India's foreign policy has collapsed, even as he posed questions to external affairs minister S Jaishankar on the handling of the recent military confrontation with Pakistan.

"Will JJ explain: Why has India been hyphenated with Pakistan? Why didn't a single country back us in condemning Pakistan? Who asked Trump to 'mediate' between India & Pakistan? India's foreign policy has collapsed," Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok Sabha, said in a post on X, referring to Jaishankar as "JJ".

The comments coincided with more Indian delegations comprising parliamentarians, including from the Congress, and diplomats, leaving for several countries to unitedly present India's case against Pakistan-sponsored terrorism and on the backdrop and aftermath of Operation Sindoor. Most of the Congress representatives were selected despite Gandhi's attempt to exclude them from the delegation. After the government sounded them out for the trip, Gandhi proposed some other names as party nominees, only to be rejected by the government.
