Indians are determined to achieve even in the face of adversity: Narendra Modi

​​Modi in his previous address on December 29, had urged people to take up tasks to uplift the poor and had stressed the need for buying indigenous products to support the artisans.

PM Modi addresses first "Mann Ki Baat" of 2020 on 71st Republic Day
Addressing the nation in his monthly radio programme, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, lauded the undying spirit of the Indian masses to achieve something even in the face of adversity.

Underlying the positive changes brought about by his monthly programme, Modi highlighted the various initiatives that saw the light of the day. Mann ki baat has became a tool to usher in social initiatives and movements in the society, said Modi. Jal Shakti Abhiyaan has borne fruit and people are associating themselves with water conservation practices throughout the country. He also recalled the Tamil Nadu model of harnessing a borewell for rainwater harvesting.

Mann Ki Baat has become an important platform for sharing, learning and growing together. Every month thousands of people share their suggestions, efforts, and experiences, reiterated Modi.


The signing of the Bru-Reang agreement found a special mention in Modi's speech. The Bru-Reang agreement is an important milestone to bring about development to the State of Tripura, said Modi. He further congratulated the chief ministers of Tripura and Mizoram for bringing about the agreement. Under the treaty, Bru-Reangs will get all the facility of the schemes of Central and State government like other people of Tripura.

Modi also thanked all the people, coaches and technical officers associated with ‘Khelo India Games’ for organising them successfully.
