NEW DELHI: Indian Youth Congress activists accompanied by farmers today took out a Prabhat Pheri (morning procession) visiting MPs to urge them to oppose Land Acquisition Bill in the Parliament.

The procession was led by Youth Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja with recital of bhajans.

The MPs residing in North Avenue area were approached and given hand bills appealing them to oppose the Land Bill in the Parliament.

"The land acquisition ordinance by BJP government is against the rights of farmers and farm labourers. It also poses a major threat to the agriculture of the country," said a Youth Congress statement.

"Youth Congress will continue to struggle for the rights and interests of the farmer and take this struggle to every part of the country," Raja said.
