DUBAI: An Indian worker was among two persons killed when firecrackers loaded in two trucks exploded in the emirate of Ajman. Two policemen were also injured in the accident which occurred yesterday.
The Ajman Civil Defence trucks were carrying around 300 kg of firecrackers which had recently been confiscated by the Police and were to be destroyed as per a court order.
The crackers, however, exploded due to an error, Colonel Ali Abdullah Alwan, Director General of Ajman Police, said. The explosion was caused due to friction of the firecrackers in the moving truck, he told 'The Khaleej Times'.
