AHMEDABAD: Not happy with the placement of Mahatma Gandhi's statue at Madam Tussauds, a man from Gujarat after his first visit to the famous wax museum has written to Britain's Prime Minister Gordon Brown to shift it from that position.

V K Saxena of National Council of Civic Liberties in his letter to Brown said the statue is not placed in the wing where the statues of other illustrious world leaders are exhibited.

Gandhi's statue is placed at an isolated corner on the second floor near an ice cream parlour close to the dustbin, Saxena wrote in his letter.

Thousands of visitors who use this parlour throw away waste into the bin which often spills out near the statue, he said.

He requested Brown to take immediate action to see that this anomaly is rectified.

Saxena has also sent copies of his letter to all national leaders including Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Leader of Opposition L K Advani.
