Indian team leaves for Delhi

MUMBAI: The Indian team landed here after their tri-series win in Australia and departed for Delhi, where they will be felicitated by the BCCI this afternoon.

The Indian team led by skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni defeated World Champions Australia 2-0 in the best-of-three finals of the tri-series in Sydney and Brisbane.

The team, minus fielding coach Robin Singh, will attend the felicitation ceremony to be held in the capital.



Speaking to reporters on arrival, Singh termed the performance of the Indian cricket team Down Under as "brilliant" and rated it at par with the Twenty20 World Cup win last year.

The BCCI had announced a cash bonanza of Rs 10 crore for the Indian team after they defeated the kangaroos in the second final of the tri-series.
