MELBOURNE: Another Indian student was beaten on a platform at Flinders St station in Melbourne.

A commuter in the darkened section of the station hit the Indian student around the head and upper body.

The Herald Sun quoted the student as saying that he was bashed after a man asked him "what are you looking at?"

"I think he was drunk. He just said 'what are you looking at?' No one was near by," the victim said.

The student was bleeding from several blows to the head and treated by paramedics for cuts and ambrasions on platform 10.

Witnesses said it took several minutes before Metro staff or police attended to the injured man.
