Indian, Nepalese officials decide to curb smuggling on border

Steps to curb smuggling of contraband and identify criminals taking advantage of dual citizenship were discussed at the meeting here.

BALRAMPUR: A meeting of officials from India and Pakistan today decided to effectively check activities of criminals on the border through joint efforts.

Steps to curb smuggling of contraband and identify criminals taking advantage of dual citizenship were discussed at the meeting here, District Magistrate K V Pandiyan said.

The two sides also decided to share information regarding the arrest of criminals, he said

Nepal's representative Kushan Chand, who is the DM of Kapilavastu, said ties between India and Nepal had improved.

He said Nepal views its relations with both India and China on same level.
