An Indian journalist has bagged the International Association of Book-keeper's (IAB) New Business of the Year Award.

LONDON: An Indian journalist has bagged the International Association of Book-keeper's (IAB) New Business of the Year Award.

Anasudhin Azeez, managing director of Manchester-based New Asian Media Ltd and publisher of the Asian Lite magazine, received the award a function at the House of Commons chaired by IAB president Fabian Hamilton, MP.

A 12-member judging panel, led by IAB chief executive Malcolm Trotter, short-listed the winners from hundreds of applicants.

Azeez, who launched Asian Lite in 2007, has earlier worked for publications such as the Free Press Journal, Indian Express, Lokmat Times and Khaleej Times. He began his media company with his personal savings.

Aimed at professional British-Asians and new immigrants from South Asia, the magazine has a circulation of 35,000 copies.

It was recently short-listed by How-Do Media Awards in the Best Magazine Category.
