Minister of External Affairs S Jaishankar could visit Dhaka eyeing expansion in ties

New Delhi: Foreign Minister S Jaishankar has expressed his interest in visiting Dhaka and the two sides have agreed to hold the 6th meeting of the Joint Consultative Commission this month to build on the momentum in ties.

Foreign Minister Dr. A K Abdul Momen had a telephone conversation with his Indian counterpart Jaishankar in Monday.

They have agreed to hold the 6th meeting of the Joint Consultative Commission – JCC at the ministerial level on virtual platform. The meeting is expected to be held later this month.


Jaishankar has expressed his interest in visiting Bangladesh after the relaxation of India’s international travel ban, according a statement released from Dhaka.

During the last few months ties have been expanded with a slew of connectivity initiatives and decision to offer anti Covid vaccines to Dhaka. Foreign Secretary’s recent visit to Dhaka enabled to engage at the highest level.
