NEW DELHI: The impact of the car bomb blast outside the Danish embassy in Islamabad caused minor damage to the nearby India House, which is the residence of the Indian high commissioner to Pakistan.

Indian high commissioner Satyabrata Pal was and his wife were having lunch when the car bomb went off outside the Danish embassy which is located in the high security diplomatic area. All the window panes in the two storey building shattered under the impact of the bomb blast. The ministry of external affairs confirmed that there was damage to the Indian high commissioner���s residence.

���Yes, there has been some damage to the Indian High Commissioner���s residence in Islamabad. Fortunately, no one in the residence has been hurt in the incident,��� said the MEA official spokesperson. Cracks appeared in the walls of the two storey house.

Security at the residence was immediately beefed up but there was no plan to evacuate the ambassador and his family. Norway, according to reports announced that it was closing its embassy while a number of Western countries evacuated their missions which are located in the area.
