Indian envoy holds first official meeting with Nepal President

KATHMANDU: Indian Ambassador to Nepal Rakesh Sood met the country's first President Ram Baran Yadav here in the first official meeting between the two, an Indian Embassy spokesman said.

The two discussed bilateral relations and the current political situation in Nepal during the half an hour long meeting held at the President's office at Shital Niwas yesterday.

"It was just a courtesy call, there was no specific agenda," an Indian Embassy spokesman said without elaborating on the meeting.
