Indian delegation meets Prachanda

KATHMANDU: Sharad Yadav, Leader of the Janata Dal (United), who is leading an Indian delegation to Nepal met Nepal's Prime Minister Prachanda and other senior political leaders.

Speaking at the Reporters' Club here, Yadav said that Prachanda had informed the delegation about the inundation in Sunsari district caused by Koshi dam, displacing over 30 thousands people living along the river.
Yadav said that both Nepal and India could solve the problem through proper management of the water in Koshi River.
He said he would raise this issue in the Indian parliament.

Yadav stressed that India benefited from Nepal becoming democratic country. The delegation also delivered an invitation from Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh to Prachanda for a visit to India.

The Indian delegation also included K.C. Tyagi of Janata Dal (United) and Subindra Bhadauriya of Samajwadi Party, Nepalnews reported.
