LONDON: The 24-year-old Indian national charged with the murder of Samrajyo Jyothirmai Vempala, a student from Andhra Pradesh at a British university, will be produced in the Birmingham Magistrates Court on Friday even as the Coroner ordered an inquest into the death.

Though the Consulate General of India in Birmingham is assisting Jyothirmai's family in sending the body to India, there is likely to be some delay in getting it released, official sources said on Wednesday.
Two post mortem examinations have been conducted on 23-year-old Jyothirmai who was found dead at her apartment in Handsworth, a suburb of Birmingham on May 6.

The first post mortem established that Jyothirmai died as a result of head injuries. The second post mortem was held on behalf of the defence last Monday. Nagraj Kumar Nalloori, who was also staying with the victim, was denied bail last Friday but is expected to apply for the same when he appears before the court on May 16.

Jyothirmai, who hailed from Vijaywada, was in the UK on a study visa attending a postgraduate course in health sciences at the University of Wolverhampton. According to sources, Nallori's family has also got in touch with the Consulate General and sought help.
