Indian charged with AP girl's murder denied bail

A British court on Friday denied bail to a 24-year-old Indian student charged with the murder of a post graduate student from Andhra Pradesh studying at Wolverhampton and remanded him to custody till May 16.

LONDON: A British court on Friday denied bail to a 24-year-old Indian student charged with the murder of a post graduate student from Andhra Pradesh studying at Wolverhampton and remanded him to custody till May 16.

Police produced Nagaraja Kumar Nalluri, also a student at the Wolverhampton, in the Birmingham Magistrates Court on charges of murdering Samrajyo Jyothirmai Vempala.

Police said Nalluri had sustained neck injuries and was not in a position to make a statement.

According to official sources, Nalluri was also staying with Jyothirmai, who hailed from Vijaywada and was in the UK on a study visa attending a postgraduate course in health sciences at the University of Wolverhampton.
