Indian Air Force signs MoU with JNTU

HYDERABAD: Representatives of the Indian Air Force and city-based Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University ( JNTU) today signed an MoU for the ' Flight Navigator Programme' at Navigation Training School at the Air Force Station in Begumpet here.

Under the Memorundam of Understanding (MoU), the 'Flight Navigator Programme', conducted under the aegis of Navigation Training School, Begumpet would henceforth be affiliated to JNTU, and would be recognised for award of M Sc (Aviation Science) degree by the University, according to a release.

The master's degree would be conferred upon the Commissioned Officers of the Navigation Branch of Indian Air Force.

"The flight navigator programme would be the first-of-its-kind for flying branch officers of the Indian Air Force to be affiliated to a university and recognised as a post graduate programme in Aviation Science," the release said.

Begumpet Air Force Station Station Commander Group Captain EK Prasad and JNTU Registrar NV Ramana Rao signed the MoU.

Addressing the audience at the MoU signing ceremony, the chief guests said that the signing of the MoU signalled an era of co-operation and partnership, which would mutually benefit both institutions.

They expressed their hope that joint projects between IAF and the University would lead to path-breaking innovations and greater indigenisation in the highly specialised of Aerial Navigation, the release added.
