GREATER NOIDA: After Pakistan tried to put India in the dock, accusing it of starting the firing at the border on Eid-ul-Zuha, it was India’s turn to accuse Pakistan of being insensitive and not sparing the festival of Diwali by firing on Indian posts.

“Pakistan did not even leave the opportunity of firing upon us on the auspicious occasion of Diwali. We are pained over this as well as angry. Diwali is such a big festival for us and they fired on our civil-ians even on that day. Pakistan should refrain from such activities as we are capable of giving them a befitting reply,” Home Minister Rajnath Singh said at the ITBP Raising Day function in Greater Noida on Friday. He said India's level of patience with firing from the Pakistan side had been breached and he had asked troops to retaliate heavily on the border.

Singh also had a piece of advice for China saying India wants peace with China, but it cannot be at the cost of national honour and any compromise on the territorial integrity of the country
