India, Vietnam hold strategic defence dialogue

The minister who is in Delhi to attend the annual defence dialogue told ET that defence cooperation between the two countries has achieved practical results.

India, Vietnam hold strategic defence dialogue
NEW DELHI: India and Vietnam are exploring avenues of cooperation in shipbuilding and weapon system modernisation to expand their growing defence partnership, said Lt General Nguyen Chi Vinh, Vietnam’s vicedefence minister. The minister who is in Delhi to attend the annual defence dialogue told ET that defence cooperation between the two countries has achieved practical results.

“The two countries have been cooperating in various fields like regional strategic security issues, defence industry, arms and services, education, science and technology etc. This year, cooperation has been strengthened in these fields,” said Chi Vinh. Both sides are also interested in cooperation in United Nations Peacekeeping operations.
