NEW DELHI: A senior Indian diplomat said it has “insulated” the issue of privileges and immunity from rest of its relationship with the US, which was one of its strategic partners.

“We have insulated that [issue] …. energy secretary is coming next week. There are several other dialogues in process,” foreign secretary Sujatha Singh told women reporters at an event to mark the International Women’s Day.

She admitted that the incident relating to the arrest of Indian diplomat Devyani Khobragade in New York caused certain degree of misunderstanding for a “certain period of time”.
