NEW DELHI: India and the US discussed ways to support a sustainable and democratic political order in Afghanistan during meetings America's Special Representative for Af-Pak Dan Feldman had with senior officials here.

Ambassador Feldman visited New Delhi on April 7 to continue high-level US-India consultations on Afghanistan following on President Barack Obama's visit in January, the US Embassy said here.

The Special Representative met National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar and other Indian government counterparts.

"They discussed the outcomes of President Ghani and CEO Abdullah's visit to Washington and discussed how best to support a sustainable, inclusive, sovereign, and democratic political order in Afghanistan," the embassy said in a statement.
