India, Turkmenistan hold talks to boost ties
NEW DELHI: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid O Meredov today reviewed the entire gamut of bilateral relationship and decided to give a fresh push to boost two-way trade and investment.

Swaraj and Meredov, co-chairing the sixth meeting of the inter-government commission, felt that there was scope for both countries to expand cooperation in a number of areas, including energy and education.

Officials said the two leaders resolved to work towards exploring untapped opportunities.

In the meeting, Meredov handed Swaraj congratulatory message from the Turkmenistan President to President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"Reviewing the full spectrum of a multifaceted partnership. EAM and Dy PM & FM lead the 6th IGC between India and Turkmenistan," External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted along with a photograph of the meeting.

Meredov also met Defence Minister Arun Jaitley and discussed possible cooperation in areas of defence and security.
