India to witness upheaval due to poverty, unemployment, says Markandey Katju

VARANASI: The coming decade will witness an upheaval in the country due to poverty and unemployment, Press Council Chairman Justice Markandey Katju has said, asking youths to be prepared to face the challenge.

"The country will witness upheaval due to poverty and unemployment...this period of instability could remain for the next 15-20 years...The youths should come forward in this hour of crisis," he said at a function in Varanasi Law College yesterday here.

Intellectuals should take the initiative to drive the country on the right track, he said.
