India to host permanent secretariat of Asia-Pacific meet

The establishment of the permanent secretariat of the Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Housing and Urban Development at New Delhi was endorsed at the second Asia-Pacific ministers' Conference on Housing and Urban Development held at Tehran.

NEW DELHI: The establishment of the permanent secretariat of the Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on Housing and Urban Development at New Delhi was endorsed at the second Asia-Pacific ministers' Conference on Housing and Urban Development held at Tehran.

The Tehran conference, attended by 37 countries, was held during May 12-14, according to a release here on Monday.

The conference adopted an action plan for regional cooperation on promoting sustainable urban development among Asia-Pacific countries towards collectively addressing the challenges of sustainable urbanisation.
