India to accept foreign aid into PM & CM relief fund for Kerala

State and non-state players from across the globe have come forward to help the flood-ravaged Kerala.

"Contributions to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund and the CM’s Relief Fund from NRIs, PIOs and international entities such as foundations would be welcome,” MEA spokesperson noted.
India on Wednesday on clarified while it is committed to meet relief efforts in Kerala through domestic measures it is open to receiving contributions to PM and CM relief fund from NRIs, PIOs and global foundations.

“The Government of India deeply appreciates offers from several countries, including from foreign governments, to assist in relief and rehabilitation efforts after the tragic floods. In line with the existing policy, the government is committed to meeting the requirements for relief and rehabilitation through domestic efforts. Contributions to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund and the CM’s Relief Fund from NRIs, PIOs and international entities such as foundations would, however, be welcome,” MEA spokesperson noted.
