India terms Pak claims on Delhi’s offer for talks as work of fiction and act of desperation

New Delhi: India termed Pakistan’s claim on Delhi reaching out for talks with Islamabad as a ‘work of fiction’ and described the Pak PM security adviser’s move as an act of desperation due on prevailing internal mess in that country.

The claims by Imran Khan’s top security adviser Moeed W Yusuf that New Delhi had sent a quiet message that reflected what he called, “a desire for conversation” is a ‘work of fiction’ borne out of internal mess within Pakistan, according to persons familiar with the internal dynamics of the neighbour.

Delhi’s stand on holding any conversation with Pakistan had been consistent and preconditioned on Islamabad taking measures to abolish state of sponsorship of cross-border of terror.


Pakistan failed to muster international support on its Kashmir narrative since last August, one of the persons quoted above said, adding the Imran Khan government has also miserably failed to deliver on internal governance including legislations.

The Pak Army is taking charge of major decisions and the Khan government again restored to the India bogey, the person claimed. The internal strife is increasing and India is best bet for the Khan government to divert attention.

Yusuf is also trying to appeal his constituency in USA where he worked in a think tank in past by advocating that Pakistan “desires” peace talks with India.
