India should follow German system of democracy: Advani

BJP leader L K Advani on Wednesday batted for implementation of the German system of democracy where there was a fixed term for Parliament unlike the British system.

BARASAT (WB): Aiming to be the next Prime Minister of the world's largest democracy, BJP leader L K Advani on Wednesday batted for implementation of the German system of democracy where there was a fixed term for Parliament unlike the British system.

"There should be a fixed term for Parliament and Assembly -- for five years," Advani told an election rally here.

He also suggested that February was the right season for holding election as the weather was better.

Seeing people who braved the scorching heat to attend his election rally, the veteran leader said, "February is the right season (for holding election). It is not so hot. More people can take part in the election. It will be in the best interest of the country and democracy."
