India seeks early clarity on Line of Actual Control
NEW DELHI: India’s special representative for boundary talks with China, NSA Ajit Doval, emphasised on early clarification of the 4,057-km Line of Actual Control when he met his counterpart here on Monday. Beijing pushed for a new code of conduct (CoC) along the border.

State Councillor Yang Jiechi and Doval are also learnt to have prepared for the PM’s China trip in May. China pushed India to agree for a CoC, which it proposed for implementation along the disputed border and for adherence by both the nations for peace along LAC, according to diplomatic sources. But India says CoC will not allow infrastructure building by Delhi along LAC. Infrastructure building in border is essential for boosting economy of those states and for security purposes.
