India pledges Rs 15.63 mn for school building in Nepal

This is the third development project in the Kapilvastu district being undertaken with the assistance of India under Small Development Projects.

KATHMANDU: India will provide Rs 15.63 million assistance to Nepal for the construction of a three storey school building in the Kapilvastu district.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed to this effect yesterday among the Indian Embassy, District Development Committee of Kapilvastu and Shree Janaki Higher Secondary School.

This is the third development project in the Kapilvastu district being undertaken with the assistance of India under Small Development Projects, according to a release issued by the Indian Embassy here.

Established in 1950 as a Primary School and subsequently upgraded as Higher Secondary School in 2004, SJHSS is the only Higher Secondary School among 12 villages of the Southern Region of the Kapilvastu district.

The new infrastructure would cater to the educational needs of over 2000 students.
