India-Japan Bullet Train talks ‘progressing well’; MEA says Japan’s E-20 trains to arrive in 2030s
India has clarified its position on two key issues. On the Mumbai–Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail project, the MEA said India-Japan discussions are progressing well, with the first section expected to begin operations in 2027 using Indian high-speed trains, while Japan’s E-20 train series is expected only in the early 2030s. On Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal reiterated that Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh are integral parts of India and will always remain so.
