An Indian delegation met top officials of the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism and the UN Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate in New York on Thursday.
The delegation met Vladimir Voronkov, under-secretary-general of the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism, and Natalia Gherman, assistant secretary-general of the Counter-Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate. UN officials expressed condolences for the victims of the April 22 terrorist attack.
The Indian team presented the latest evidence highlighting Pakistan's complicity in terrorism, said people familiar with the development. The evidence focused on TRF's role in the attack. Other issues that figured in the meeting included terror financing and use of technologies by terrorists.
Pakistan, a UNSC non-permanent member, has been safeguarding TRF at the UNSC with the help of China and it was successful in blocking the mention of the terror outfit's name in a UNSC statement condemning the terror attack, the people said. TRF claimed responsibility for the attack twice.
