India Covid count, May 7: Cases at 52,952, deaths at 1,783

At 8 am today, the country had 1,783 casualties. As many as 15,267 people have been cured/discharged. Maharashtra continued to be most affected state with 16,758 cases, followed by Gujarat (6,625) and Delhi (5,532).

Covid-19 pandemic: India crosses 52,000-mark, death toll at 1,783
The number of the Indians having Covid-19 has reached 52,952, Union Health ministry's latest data showed.

At 8 am today, the country had 1,783 casualties. As many as 15,267 people have been cured/discharged.

Maharashtra continued to be most affected state with 16,758 cases, followed by Gujarat (6,625) and Delhi (5,532).


As per ICMR, at last count, a total of 13,57,413 samples had been tested for Covid.

Globally, there were 37,48,959 cases as of today morning. The global death count currently stands at 2,63,146.
