India Covid count, April 29: Death toll crosses 1,000 mark, total cases over 31,000

India's Covid death toll has crossed the 1,000 mark, the latest updated data of the Union Health ministry showed.

As of 8 am today, the number of the dead rose to 1,007. The total official infected count was 31,332. As many as 7,696 among them have been declared discharged/cured.

The global number of cases crossed the 3 million mark to touch 31,13,447 as of morning hours today. 2,16,930 people have died from the disease so far. In US, the most affected country globally, the death toll is steadily inching towards 60,000.
