India Covid count, April 19: 15,712 confirmed cases, 507 dead

Confirmed coronavirus cases in India shot well past the 15,000 mark today, Health Ministry data updated at 8 am showed.

The number of cases in the country stands at 15,712 at the moment. Casualties number 507 till now, while 2,231 have been listed as cured/discharged/migrated.

As of 9 pm yesterday, a total of 3,72,123 samples from 3,54,969 individuals had been tested for the virus, according to latest data at Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) website.


Globally, the number of cases is now at 23,10,572, as per morning hour figures. As many as 1,58,691 people have died so far.

America tops the casualties list with 38,928 deaths. Italy has over 23,000 dead and Spain, over 20,000 as of now.
