The official coronavirus count in India touched 74,281 today, according to the Union Health ministry's daily update.

At 8 am, the death toll stood at 2,415, while 24,386 people have been cured/discharged.

Maharashtra continued to be the worst hit state with 24,427 cases, followed by Gujarat (8,903) and Delhi (7,639).


At last count, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) had tested 18,54,250 samples for the virus.

In his address to the nation last night, PM Modi had raised the size of the virus stimulus to around 10 per cent of India's GDP. He also gave some hints about how the rules of the coming Lockdown 4.0 will be.

Globally, the number of cases was at 42,33,504 as of today's morning hours. 2,89,932 people have died worldwide so far.
