India coronavirus numbers, May 6: Cases cross 49,000, casualties near 1,700

As of 8 am today, the number of the dead so far is 1,694. 14,183 people have been cured and discharged. Maharashtra continues to be the hardest-hit state with 15,525 cases. It is followed by Gujarat (6,245 cases) and Delhi (5,104 cases).

India's coronavirus numbers ocntinued the steady upward march to touch 49,391 today, the daily update by Union Health ministry showed.

As of 8 am today, the number of the dead so far is 1,694. 14,183 people have been cured and discharged.

Maharashtra continues to be the hardest-hit state with 15,525 cases. It is followed by Gujarat (6245 cases) and Delhi (5104 cases).


The number of cases globally, as of morning hours today, is 36,62,101, the number of casualties being 2,57,207.
