India case count on April 17: 13,835 confirmed Covid cases, 452 dead so far
America tops the casualties list with 34,784 deaths. Meanwhile, the death rate is falling for Italy and Spain — signs that the worse could be over for the two European epicentres of the disease.

As per an Union Health ministry update at 5 pm today, confirmed cases in the country number 13,835 at the moment. 1,767 people have been cured/discharged/migrated so far, while the death count stands at 452.
As of 9 pm yesterday, a total of 3,02,956 samples from 2,86,714 individuals had been tested for the virus, data from ICMR showed.
Globally, the number of cases has gone up to 21,65,500, according to figures available during evening hours. The number of the dead so far is 1,45,705.
