Mamata Banerjee proposes Kharge as INDIA bloc's PM face; Congress chief says 'Let's win first'
INDIA parties passed a resolution condemning suspension of opposition MPs in Parliament, said Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge after Opposition meet on Tuesday. He said an all-India protest will be held on December 22 against the suspension of MPs.

"This is the first time 151 members of the parliament have been suspended in the country. We will fight against this, this is wrong...We have united to fight against this. We have decided to hold a protest against the suspension of MPs on 22nd December," said Kharge.

No final decision taken yet on INDIA bloc PM face, Congress chief Kharge is of the view that winning first is important, sources told PTI.

"Our priority is to win first. Who becomes the PM can be discussed later. If MPs are not there, what is the use of talking about the PM? We should first try to fight unitedly and bring majority," said Kharge in response to media queries on reports suggesting that West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee proposed his name as the PM face of the INDIA alliance.

The Congress chief said, the bloc has decided to hold 8-10 meetings across the country. "If alliance partners don't come together on one stage, then people will not know about it. It's a good thing that the meeting lasted for 2-3 hours."

At least 49 more Lok Sabha Members of Parliament (MPs) were suspended on Tuesday for disrupting House proceedings. The MPs suspended include Farooq Abdullah, and senior Congress leaders Shashi Tharoor and Manish Tewari.
