India, Australia ink pact to enhance space cooperation

India and Australia today decided to enhance cooperation in space science research, technology and capability development.

NEW DELHI: India and Australia today decided to enhance cooperation in space science research, technology and capability development.

The two countries inked a Memorandum of Understanding in Civil Space Science, Technology and Education after wide ranging talks between visiting Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

The MoU seeks to increase collaboration in civil space science research, technology and capability development and educational activities for the benefit of the people of both countries.

The MoU was signed by K Radhakrishnan, Secretary, Department of Space, and Australian High Commissioner to India Peter Varghese.
