In two districts of J-K, 359 works taken up under National Rural Employment Guarantee scheme

Jammu and Kashmir government has taken up 359 works for execution under National Rural Employment Guarantee scheme in south Kashmir's Anantnag and Kulgam districts during the current financial year.

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir government has taken up 359 works for execution under National Rural Employment Guarantee scheme in south Kashmir's Anantnag and Kulgam districts during the current financial year.

"As many as 359 works have been taken up for execution in Anantnag and Kulgam districts during the current fiscal under NREG scheme," an official spokesman said after a meeting to review the progress in rural development sector yesterday.

The meeting was informed that 41,500 job cards have been issued till date, the spokesman said.

More than 1700 works have been completed with an expenditure of Rs 3.76 crore under the Indira Awas Yojna so far during the current fiscal, the spokesman added.
