In this Kurukshetra, people of Andhra will play Krishna, I will be Arjuna: CM Reddy

At his fourth 'siddham (ready)' rally in Addanki, which is dominated by Kammas, YSRCP chief Reddy set a target for his party to win all 175 assembly seats. He asked: "Why not 175?" Incidentally, Reddy's main rival, TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu, hails from the Kamma community.
The rally was organised a day after TDP stitched an alliance with BJP and Jan Sena for the Lok Sabha and assembly polls in Andhra Pradesh.
Addressing his party cadres, the CM asked: "Are you all siddham (ready) for yudham (war). Are you all ready for the battle wherein Naidu relies on other parties while I rely on you, the people. In this Kurukshetra, the people of Andhra Pradesh will play the role of Krishna, whereas I will play the role of Arjuna." Amid 'Jai Jagan Anna' slogannering, Reddy also highlighted social welfare measures of his government.
Reddy said while the TDP chief was in a tripartite alliance and another national party (Congress) was in his pocket, he was alone in this battle. "The alliance consists of parties (BJP) that got fewer votes than NOTA as Naidu was unable to pedal his cycle alone," he said. Cycle is TDP's election symbol.
"Naidu is zero, and if he forms an alliance with parties, the result will also be a big zero. He did not fulfil his 2014 manifesto," Reddy said.
In 2019, YSRCP swept both the Lok Sabha and assembly polls. It had won 151 of the 175 assembly seats and 22 of the 25 Lok Sabha seats. TDP could manage only 23 assembly and three Lok Sabha seats. Recently, Reddy's sister YS Sharmila merged her party with Congress and was appointed its Andhra unit chief.
