Inside Operation Sindoor: How IAF hit terror strongholds deep within Pakistan territory
India carried out precision stikes at nine terror targets in PoK and Pakistan in the shadow of a significant war exercise near the Pakistan border, with frontline fighters including Rafales and Su 30MKIs undertaking battle drills.

Op Sindoor is believed to have hit terror targets including Bahawalpur early on Wednesday morning, with videos posted on social media showing missile attacks.

A notice to airmen (NOTAM) has been issued earmarking a large area for military exercise at Rajasthan starting Wednesday. The notice warns that the area would be restricted from Wednesday afternoon till Thursday night. Pakistan has been conducting several Air exercises on its territory for the past few days after its political leadership announced fears that an attack by India is imminent.

India too has been flexing its muscles with a range of live firing drills and exercises, even as small arms firing continues along the Line of Control (LoC) with Pakistani troops targeting Indian positions.

The Jodhpur based 12 Corps, which is also known as the Desert Corps, has been conducting `validation’ exercises involving frontline main battle tanks. The battlefield drills are aimed at `enhancing the combat efficiency of the formation to conduct sustained operations’.

The Jaipur based South Western Command has also been conducting drills for special heliborne operations. This includes insertion of special forces deep into enemy territory using Mi 17 helicopters and other rotary wing platforms. Similar drills have been carried out by the Jalandhar based Vajra Corps in coordination with the Indian Air Force.

Indian Navy has carried out multiple live firings in the Arabian sea involving long range anti ship missiles.

The air force is also undertaking an internal exercise in central India called Exercise Akraman. The drills involve frontline Rafale fighter aircraft and the scenarios being practised include long range precision ground attack and dealing with enemy air defence systems.
