In a major bureaucratic reshuffle, BP Sharma moved out of Health Ministry

NEW DELHI: B P Sharma, secretary, ministry of health has been shifted to the ministry of personnel, public grievances and pensions as part of a reshuffle of top level government officials. Sharma will serve as secretary, department of personnel and training, while C K Mishra will take his place in the department of health and family welfare.

Mishra was until now an additional secretary at the health ministry.

N S Kang, another additional secretary of the department of health and family welfare, has also been moved to head the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) in this reshuffle. Kang, an IAS officer from the batch of 1983, will now be designated as the organisation's secretary and director general.

"The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the following appointments…" stated Rajiv Kumar, secretary, appointments committee of the cabinet in a notice dated July 28.

The notice lists fifteen IAS officials, including the current ministry of steel secretary Aruna Sundarajan, electronics and information technology ministry secretary Aruna Sharma and present coal ministry special secretary AK Dubey.
