In 3 years, Gujarat courts will be without pending cases: Narendra Modi

Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday claimed there will be no pendency of cases in courts in the state within two or three years.

JAIPUR: Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday claimed there will be no pendency of cases in courts in the state within two or three years.

"Lakhs of cases have been disposed and pendency of cases in courts has considerably decreased in Gujarat through our initiatives of Lok Adalat campaign, increasing the time of courts and decreasing vacation period," Modi said.

"Now Gujarat will be a state with no pendency of cases in courts within two or three years," he said while speaking at a oration on 'Indian concept of development'.

He said Gujarat has followed the Indian concept of development and brought a major shift in so many sectors be it agriculture, water management, rural or urban development, judiciary, livestock or anything else.

Underlining the importance of principles of great men like Mahatma Gandhi, Deendayal Upadhyay and Rammanohar Lohia, he said anything can be done by taking inspirations from those great men whose teachings have relevance in the present scenario.

"In the last ten years, we improved the situation and now we are looking forward to value addition," he said.
