The CBI, in its press release said: "All the above public servants have blatantly and dishonestly favoured IMA Group and allowed them to continue their activities unhindered and failed to take timely action in spte of being directed to conduct enquiry/investigation. RBI has repeatedly written letters to these authorities through State Chief Secretrary and DGP requesting for urgent and suitable action."
The CBI said their acts favoured kingpin of the scam Mohammed Mansoor Khan and the IMA group, and hence it was seeking sanction to prosecute them. The CBI said the IMA Group raised illegal deposits from about 76,000 innocent deposits to the tune of Rs 4000 crore.
