BURDWAN ( WEST BENGAL): An illegal arms factory was unearthed by police who also seized two pipe guns, four hand canons and equipment used to manufacture them at Khandagosh in Burdwan district, a senior police officer said on Saturday.


Superintendent of Police of Burdwan S M H Mirza told PTI that on a tip-off a police team raided the illegal arms factory at Khandagosh last night.

The police team seized hand canons, pipe gun and equipment used to manufacture these weapons. The owner of the illegal arms factory Abbhay Chandra Dutta was also arrested, the SP said.

Mirza said police was also investigating whether Dutta had connection with illegal arms dealers.

Dutta was produced before a court which remanded him to seven days police custody.
