IIT Bombay students to celebrate dry holi with destitute children

NEW DELHI: Some students from IIT Bombay will visit children at Aditya Birla Centre for the Welfare of Children in Chembur and the Vatsalya Trust near Powai on the day of Holi as part of social initiatives of its non-profit organisation Techfest. The team will also visit the children living in the slums near the IIT Bombay campus. Students will celebrate a dry Holi, using only eco-friendly colours and ensuring no wastage of water, it said in a release.

Techfest conducts various social initiatives throughout the year, including Internet For All campaign (to spread awareness about uses of internet in villages of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Rajasthan), Manifest (to bring about transparency in governance, thereby reducing corruption) and Recycle (to promote the importance of health and hygiene).
