IIMC caste row: Course director Gita Bamzai wants to resign from the post
The I & B ministry has already ordered a probe into the caste issue on campus between two groups of students. A report of it is expected next week.

While professor Bamzai refused to comment, other faculty members said she was disturbed by some "distasteful, obscene and sexist" messages against her by a few students at the institute, on social media
Official sources at IIMC, however said the resignation was yet to be accepted and the matter would be resolved in the next few days, most likely with an apology from the students.
"She has said she no longer wants to continue with the post but it is still an internal matter of the institute. It will be resolved shortly," an official said.
The students who have been accused of posting these messages against her had last week complained to the institute administration about "anti dalit" posts by another set of students.
"The students had posted nasty messages about the teaching abilities of some teachers and had also insulated things against them. This had upset many of us," a faculty member told ET.
