Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Rai today said that Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) will issue its stickers to CNG-certified cars from tomorrow.

NEW DELHI: Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Rai today said that Indraprastha Gas Limited ( IGL) will issue its stickers to CNG-certified cars from tomorrow.

The Aam Aadmi Party government has given exemption CNG-run cars having IGL's stickers from odd-even scheme that begins from January 1.

However, the government warned that if anyone was found using a fake or a copy of these CNG stickers, he or she will be prosecuted under section 420 of the Indian Penal Code besides imposing a heavy penalty.

"The IGL will start distributing a special logo for the CNG-run vehicles with special features and detectable by an instrument from tomorrow," the Transport minister said.

A senior official of the IGL said that there are 95 CNG filling stations in Delhi, seven station in Noida and Ghaziabad each and five in Greater Noida, adding that around five lakh CNG-vehicles are plying in the national capital.

He said that CNG-stickers will be placed on the windscreens of a car so that it is easily visible.
